In 1986 I purchased my first labrador retriever.  She was a black lab named Gingerry's Benjamina Lee, AKA BJ. She was a constant companion to my young son. Little did I know just what this dog would lead me to do with my life.  I met up with a few other "dog" people and started to learn about breeding dogs.  BJ. had her first litter 2 1/2 years later. Due to various influencing factors in my life, BJ went to a pet home in 1995.
It wasn't until the spring of 1998, after a couple of years without labs, that I knew I needed to be owned by a dog again.  My lifestyle didn't permit another lab so, after endless research, I decided on an American Cocker Spaniel.  Brierhill Happy Hour At Bryden (Taz) was my first, soon followed by Pyramid's Pure Gold Tia (Tia).  Again, I had no idea what was in store for me next. About a year later, after speaking endlessly with Taz's breeders, Charles & Leta Bett, I decided to try and show him. Low and behold, a new champion ... I was hooked.
A couple of years later, I knew I needed my first love back so I purchased another lab. I kept one puppy from her, HiddenRidge Tuff E Nuff, (Sara), but in the spring of 2004 at the age of 2 1/2 yrs, Sara's annual eye exam showed a genetic problem so she was spayed and placed in a pet home.  I still don't own another lab and don't know if I ever will again but I've said that before.
It was a very difficult decision to make but, after 18 years,  I am no longer breeding Labrador Retrievers.
I will continue to host the Labrador information pages on my site.
Who knows, somewhere down the road I may find myself being owned by a Labrador again :-)
I am now owned by 5 cockers and 2 boxers. Taz, Montana, Dallas, Sierra, Phoenix and the boxers, Gypsy and Ecco.
After owning the first couple of cockers I realized I had a passion for grooming (good thing due to the amount of grooming necessary with cockers) and decided to take some courses at the college.  I now run a full grooming shop from my home.
I do have puppies occasionally available to approved homes. My dogs and puppies are raised in my home as part of the family. Breeding stock is appropriately health tested.
